well, i guess the party has started.felt a little strange about things. i remember that other gulf war, but i was in grade eight or something at the time, and it didn't really make any sense to me. not that it makes 'sense' to me now, but... i feel some serious undercurrents of dread. i mean, maybe they'll just fling a bazillion cruise missles and bombs and shit at iraq, and it'll all be over in the blink of an eye, but i don't think so somehow. feels like this is just the start of some seriously ugly events.
had a concept last night., not perhaps a great one, but i think it'd be good to do anyways.
"smashing plates for peace"
the idea is to set up some kinda ...hmm , a booth of sorts maybe? at the very least a banner, and smash plates , either with a hammer or just throwing them into the side walk. offer the hammer to interested passer by. smash smash. i was thinking having the shopping cart soundsystem might be good too, a soundtrack to the absurdity.
we'll see.
