so, we rocked the astoria with some kind of style last night... it was fun. got smashed. met a japanese guitar player guy called ryu. when i was introducing him to ben or somebody, i said something like, "y'know, like ken and ryu in streetfighter", and his face lit up a bit ...not that it was a sad face, but the recognition was shared :)
yarh. yeah, the toll of the cheap beers. my brain is a spoodge with holes in it. i don't feel sick or anything, just tired. so tired. and a little bit "slow". it was worth it. fun rock & roll adventures. "moon over marin" was pretty tight and solid, and i think the fucking thundercat newman song "call out the instigators, cuz the revolutions here" song went pretty well. we shouldn't have bothered with that 'everybody's getting high' song, we slopped through it. and the fucking death metallic song went okay, we basically had it running smoothly by the time we got to the end of the song. not bad for being wasted. WASTED!! !! !! !!. got to love the $6 pitcher. cheaper than funky winkerbeans, fer goddamn! fergawdamng.
hum. and at the end of the night, there were these guys freestyle rappin. they had some pre-recorded beats/funk, and tom was sitting in, playing drums along wit da beetz, and when their beetz ran out, me n' ben got up on that , and kicked out some funk action. pretty good. i don't know if the freestylin was good or not, really... its pretty hard to hear the words, cuz the monitors are pretty much non existant, so if'n yer playing guitar near the back of the stage you can't really hear the p.a... whatever. who cares !! :) i think we were understated enough tho, left plenty or room for white boys to spit rhymes.
ya... then at the end of the night, everyone was done rocking, the chop across the neck signal had been given to shut 'er down, and tom was still kicking out the occasional bit of a beat. so jason (the guy who runs the thing) says "one more beat, and your going down hard..." so tom of course has to hit the drum one last time, and the jason like, flying tackles him, diving into/across the drum kit, and i think, like, either he wrestled tom off of the stage, like, falling five feet off of the back of the stage, or tom squirmed out and rolled himself off of the stage, i can't really remember which... pretty much a haze.
anyways. .. .
good times :)
sleeping at the meat ball is a bit of a drag sometimes tho... i mean, its fine and great, and all, much better than trying to find a freaking way all the way back to schizolaino, but i haven't showered in days! i'm starting to get a bit goaty, y'know? yar. and the fold out bed is not perhaps the best for a good nights sleep. it was nice tho, jasa was still there, so that was good, some cuddling :) ... . ... yar. i hope i didn't drunk-snore at her too much.
