well. friday! long weekend. whatever.me n' the ben have finally gotten our living situation figured, found ourselves a basement suite in strathcona. should be good. three houses that all like, back onto each other, witha really nice garden in between them. it was weird when we went over there to sign the agreement and pay the damage deposit. the couple who actually own the houses are a pair of older italians, who've lived on the east side their whole lives, and their two daughters and one of the daughters husband live in two of the houses. anyways, meeting the ma and pa kinda felt like being brought home by their daughter for the first time... "so , you've got jobs? what're those rings about, do you beat people up? i know a guy with rings like that, he beats people up. you're going to keep it clean?" i don't know... it was funny. cute. but no nonsense!
so, i'm going to be working at burrard and pacific after all, over with the 2d and sound folks. should be good, its where i'd rather be, i think... it'll keep me a little more on my toes, at any rate. although i'll likely have to do a lot more actual work, but that is okay. a little work never killed anybody, and i'm starting to feel irrelevant in this place, which makes it hard to get out of bed and come in mornings, which is possibly the most important part of my job, arriving.
been toodling around with some really hypnotic/ambient echoey guitar bits.... i want to do some recording with that style, but first i have to figure out just how the hell its going to go/ be arranged. a movement into actually writing ! usually whenever i've recorded stuff like that before i pretty much just improvise/make it up as i go, which is okay, but in an 18 minute track there are usually highs and lows as far as quality goes... if i figure it out mostly ahead of time, hopefully that will lead to more highs....
long weekend! plans? well,... wastedness, for at least 2night and 2morrow night. tonight is brent and devon's housewarming xtravaganza, and then its kassie's b'day... i gots to make her a shirt!! i have the shirt, .... but i need to come up with the slogan to spray paint on it... it was s'posed to be something about panties... but what?! she left me to come up with it... pink shirt, gold spraypaint... "wet panties?" is that too "racy"? or just too straight ahead, not clever enough? arr.. these things are hard to decide, sometimes.
although, the wet panties would be a good name for some kinda rock band.
ya.
but i think for the hypnotic/ambient guitar stuff i'm going to go with "heliopause".
