mundane morning...
rather be at home playing guitar.
of course! :) wouldn't we all?
moved on the weekend, into the lair. which might or might not be its name. but i think our home needs a name.
the lair. in strathcona! there's little moments where it feels like a weird place to be. but i think it is vancouver's secret.... green and funky, an actual neighbourhood! should be good. nice n' clean, too... a refreshing change from the squalor rot and decay of the house in schizolaino. much better vibes in the new place... i almost wasn't sure of moving, i mean, i had my own place! all to myself, .. and a place where i could do whatever the fuck i wanted, blare music, spraypaint the walls, scream , play guitar loud, n' all that. it was kinda good having my own place, although i was getting a bit squirrely not having a phone. but i'm really glad to be outta that place. its time for change on a number of fronts.
we were planning a bit for the next arizona jazz farm show... not quite sure how/where we'll pull it off... i think late summer is a good time for it. people are too cynical in the winter for high concept performance. so the concept is more or less as follows : we have the stage set up like a living room / apartement, with, y'know, table n' chairs, a small fridge, couch, and some cooking devices, i have an electric fry pan and an electric grill, n' ben has a rice maker, maybe we can get a hotplate from somewhere, or even a toaster. so then, the show is all about like, food, and living, perhaps three sets, breakfast lunch and dinner, or else maybe just dinner... like, a dinner party on stage. starts with preperation, chopping stuff up, maybe just one person on stage, slowly more people come out, music written to accompany the foodstuffs, musicians trading off instruments for spatulas... feed the audience. mic the prep cooking, n' the fry pans. a super event!
first though, i want to do another zero return show. a rock show!
eef. that'll be a pain! setting up a show. i guess i have to learn how sooner or later. it won't be that much of a pain, i s'pose. it'll be a party, ya! ya. n' who will play with us? i guess we'll see.
