peculiar ! :)

i punched some guy in the mouth at the cambie. it had to be done, and trust me,
it HAD to be done, because i'm very against violence, unless the situation calls for it. fuckin guy. some guy, his name was like, mcdonald or some thing, i don't know, brent knew him from douglas or something, anyways, he seemed okay at first. so then later, jason, my PUKE BROTHER, y'know, he's hanging , so, whatever, i guess he'd met this guy sometime a few months back at some party, and i guess this guy takes himself as all "political" (aren't we all?) and i guess his views were different from jasons or what, i don't know, anywho, he's all talking in jason's face, and that's fine, talk is talk, but then he like, slaps/smacks j in the face... and that is bullshit. i didn't even consider things, i just punched him in the face from across the table. then he's all trying to start shit with me, to save face or whatever, but the bouncers saw the whole thing go down, and they knew i was in the right, so they threw his ass out. little bugger was all scamming on our beer anyways. fuck him.

yeah, so calgary lost. punks.

too bad. 1 to zip. ya can't fault the goalie when you don't score (insert various random hockey platitudes and appropriate brief fables)

my god damn. listening to "THE MOLLUSK" and really, honestly, and all bias aside, it might be one of the most genius records ever recorded.
okay, i mean, the pod, and especially pure guava, and GWS, all of them, really, are amazing well put together records. but there is something about the mollusk as a whole record that carries beyond its due. it has good if not great production values, trippyness, but, not too much, y'know, not just trippy for trippys sake, it all fits within the album's framework, ... great musicianship on it too, and the songwriting. , an example to us all, fer sure.

okay, the thing about the mollusk, is its just mixed so fucking well, an all time headphones album. listening to "the golden eel" is just so damn inspiring, like, inside four minutes i know what i want to do with my life... i want to out do the mollusk. i don't care if it takes me forty or fifty or sixty more years. all i want is to kick the albums ass. i have the tools, i just need to take the time to perfect their use. i don't feel like this is impossible or improbable or even unlikely. aside from an untimely death (which seem to abound, but, avoid them!) i think its a for sure given that it will happen. i won't say i'll reach the same size of audience with it or get the critical acclaim, but, i'm not saying i won't , either.... plans, man, big plans.

man, i had a crazy adrenaline rush when i punched that guy... i thought for sure for a minute that we were going to go at it... i wasn't too worried, i was sure i could take him,if it came to that, and i knew my friends had my back, but yeah, electricity in the veins. but then i had a pint of pale ale or something and calmed my nerves.
