delia derbyshire! yazoo! some of those amongst you may find this nice, especially the 'electro-acoustic' types. you know who you are! anyways, the delia page is here, well, links to the music clips first... for the impatient amongst us! (myself being one) there is also an amusing sonic tribute to the late John Peel there. (clink of the glass for John).so, speaking of devils went on the radio yesterday!! some of you caught it, i know, some, of course , did not :)
it went pretty well, i think, quite well, considering we didn't practice, as such. it was really an awful lot of fun, yay for citr thunderbird radio hell! !! !! i quite encourage everyone in the lower mainland to put together something vaguely resembling a band and try to get a gig on the ubc radio, good times! sketchy beer vending machine, you can swear on the radio! quite laid back, and the people at citr are all (as far as i can tell) super nice. hooray, and again, hooray. i want to go back, with zero return, just because i can only imagine the sonic mess that would cause! hehehehehe. hopefully we can put that together. i seem to get the impression that people cancel at short notice, so, if we can get a wee set together, in the way that we do (which is RATHER LOOSE) then ya, we could perhaps nominate ourselves as stand ins. we'll see. but it was really fun, anyways. ya!
started new work, at long last!ya, its not so bad... kinda hard work, i was feeling the burn towards the end, but, its okay.... we're pine roadies. basically. meaning, we load and unload trucks, but, instead of being filled with the gear of rock bands, the trucks are filled with... well, bundles of branches from pine, cedar, hemlock, etc trees. fuck. and, of course, there is no associated rock & roll , no free drugs, no groupies, none of that. hobnobbing with one tall member of panurge will have to do, i s'pose... but its a bit disappointing... sorry chris! if some pine groupies materialize, perhaps things will be viewed in a different light ;) ;) ;)
