had a crazy weekend... well, just a crazy saturday, i guess... can't really remember friday... but its late and i'm kinda on the tired side... anyways...
well , the night was the crazy part, the day was just cruising around on my alley found low-rider bicycle, and doing some bowling, went to home depot with yeske and scoped out power tools and laser beams. its freakin' amazing what you can buy that is cordless these days... for like a grand you could have a whole team of people, each with their own crazy power tool... cordless! and you'd be good to go, rampage around the city creating random structures out of whatever you found, then disappearing back into the night!
so, then, i met up with my friend carrie, hadn't seen her in like a million years or something, possibly a billion... had a few beers at chez cambie, checked out some art and stuff, at the misanthropy gallery, and also some random gay & lesbian party downstairs at the seamrippers space, which was sort of fun,but , well, ... they were all young, they'll figure out how to party better in the future, i'm sure. anyways..! ya, went for some more beers someplace else, then carrie went home in a state of some disrepair... thought i'd check out the misanthrope and see if the party was still happening... on the way had this random guy called 'dave' ask me... umm. to like, give him a word, and he'd rap me the definition? i'm not sure... like, i wonder how much of it is different from word to word, but he was goin' off anyways, the word i gave him was love... it was pretty cool.
so, at the misanthropy, things were pretty much winding down, but, some folks were kinda hangin' out on the fire escape waiting for the 'dj', more laptop jockey,i guess, really, who i kinda know and wanted to say bye to, ... anyways, hanging out on the fire escape, it looks across a kind of parking lot then the alley at the side of the marble arch hotel... up on the third or fourth floor was a baby man! bizarre, ... he had a big bonnet and a soother and diapers and i think some kinda bib... and we (there were maybe ten folks hangin out) were kinda looking up at him... he'd kinda waddle towards the window, hang out for a while, waddle back. i followed a couple of folks up the fire escape a floor higher, to get a better angle on our friend, and from there, you could see the roof of the back part of the next building, and there were full looking diapers all strewn across it, and a diaper down in the alley, too... so i guess he just fills 'em up and lets 'em fly! well... i hope he's having a good time up there. baby man.
from there it was pretty late, i figured i should get on homewards, walked back to strathcona, i'm coming down jackson towards the alley which leads to our house, and i could hear this music, like, live music, and it sounded kinda good... so i walked around a little, and figured out where it was coming from, took a piss against a telephone pole and listened for a minute, it sounded good so i kinda walked towards the building, and saw a sign that said "come up to room #303", ... so i walk up the stairs, got to the top floor, thought "this is a bit funny", but, there was a friendly looking note on the door that said "come on in", so, i did, and it was cool, this band were playing, they're called 'costa verde', they seemed really good, and the people there all seemed really cool, i hope i see some of them again, i have some numbers/email addresses... so, i ended up jamming with the guitarist and bass player from costa verde, but, guitarist on drums and bassist on guitar, and i was playing bass, ... i think i might be in a band called 'heart star heart', we'll see :) it was pretty fuckin' fun, ... i mean, i didn't end up leaving till seven a.m., so! good thing it was fun! and, just around the corner! secret people hiding in the neighbourhood... i mean, i knew they were out there, but its nice to randomly wander into their apartments and meet them! anyway,i have a guy from costa verde's number, so, hopefully we can get heart star heart a show and whatever, maybe party again before i ditch this popsicle town.
on the 'ditching this popsicle town' tip, i got a new job, which is good. well, hopefully its good. moving furniture, like, from a furniture store to peoples houses... delivering furniture, i guess it is. starts wednesday! which is good... i was kinda concerned, like, 'okay, greens is over, what the hell am i gonna do?', so, i was chilling with arc, listening to the monstrous stooges-esque jams from last week, when jose his downstairs neighbour comes up and says something about jobs, and like, "i need a job!!", so,... there we are! that'll help this monkey boy gather some coins to facilitate egress t'wards france-town.
the moral, as always, is that things happen if you leave the house.
