its quarter to one. crazy 'jazzer' upstairs is tinkling the ivories... SHUT UP!! jeez. ah well. if ben n' carly weren't here maybe i'd give her some competition with yon electrik gweetarrr!makes me wonder (not just this particular random hack tinkling, but a general behavior thing) if she's into weird druggz or something. but that could just be aftereffects of watching "ray" ... not a bad movie. mostly. the end, tho, the last half hour/forty-five... its long, baby, long. long and like, "whattttt?" lame. and its probably the part that'll give jamie foxxxxxxxx the oscar, cuz that is how it works. but it basically ruins the movie. the begining hour or so is pretty darn good. but then it falls into some morass or other. too bad. i didn't realize ray charles was so druggy. whatever. he did allright, i guess. made a lot of money for starbucks and pepsi.
debuted the posters! took 'em into pat's pub, put a bunch up... got nothing but sweet compliments, including "that is the best gig poster i've seen in a long time"... right on! good for the confidence. well, we did put a lot of work in, and of course that shows, because that is what a lot of work does. i think its the handmade aspect that pushes it over the top... there are a lot of artists/designers locally who have been at it longer and who's shit rips and tears and kills, ... but, usually they are mass printed offset style. a screenprinted poster is a happy thing... hope peeps can make it to our show. next friday BEEYATCH!
speaking of which. saw a girl downtown... drinking in that 'patio' of , um, whatever its called, the bar on the corner of granville and robson. and she had this shirt that said something like, "i'm rich, beeeeyatch!!!"...
and i thought really the only way that shirt could be cool is if it was on a hobo.
but maybe that is the influence of vice magazine. from back when they were not suck.
now they suck, much like the lady upstairs on the peeyanner. fuckin SHUT UP. or at least be rad.
she probably thinks similar thoughts when i'm practicing, so what can ya do?
